The Red Shell Difference


At Red Shell, we are taking retail sushi back to the day when sushi was a unique, niche delicacy versus a mass-produced mediocre commodity.  Our belief is that sushi is a special product that should represent the highest quality ingredients, sustainable and traceable seafood and be crafted by chefs who are well compensated with benefits and opportunity to advance within our organization.  Here is how we are DIFFERENT, and we think you'll like it!

Company Chefs-Our chefs are NOT franchisees; they work directly for Red Shell Sushi.  They are well paid and follow our direction to ensure consistency in product quality and operations.  Our focus is on full cases and constant attention to food safety.  Gone are the days of chefs leaving early with minimal product availability.  At Red Shell, we compensate our professional chefs well and reward them with full benefits and bonuses for doing a great job.

Clean Ingredients-We source the cleanest ingredients in the industry including nori, all-natural wasabi, all-natural ginger, clean sushi seasoning, gluten free soy sauce and short grain rice milled to our exacting specifications.  

Innovation in Freshness-We use advanced freezing technology to preserve peak freshness and flavor of our seafood, ensuring our sushi tastes as vibrant as the day it was made.  Our seafood is NEVER treated with CO (Carbon Monoxide) and the color remains a deep red, revealing the freshness.

Sustainable Sourcing-By prioritizing eco-friendly practices, we’re minimizing the environmental impact of our supply chain, setting a new standard for sustainability in the sushi industry.  Our tuna is caught with long lines and never farmed, and we use ONLY products approved by the stewards of the industry; MSC, BAP, ASC, GFSI, FISH WISE, TRACE REGISTER, GLOBAL TUNA ALLIANCE, ANIMAL WELFARE CERTIFIED and GLOBAL DIALOGUE on Seafood Traceability.
